Holy Week & Easter Schedule

March 16th, 2017

Rhythm Team

There’s a reason why the church has always called the week leading up to Easter the “holy week.” This is the week when the self-giving love of God is made most visible, the week that Christ suffered and died on the cross for our sins, but then three days later was raised in new life.

Living Into Lent

March 1st, 2017

Rhythm Team

We invite you to journey with us during the season of Lent. Beginning in the fourth century, the church began observing Lent as a forty-day period of reflection and preparation for the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is a time of repentance, of considering Christ’s sufferings, and rethinking how we are called to take up our own crosses and follow Jesus.

We also encourage you to download this Lent Devotional Guide that our community is using this Lenten season. Each day has its own Psalm to use for prayer and a scripture passage to meditate on. Take a few minutes each day to spend time with Jesus during this season, opening up your heart to his presence as he journey’s to the cross.

Christmas Wishes

November 21st, 2016

Rhythm Team

Every year, Christmas just seems to sneak up on us and take us by surprise. The season of Advent helps us to slow down and pay attention to God as we anticipate the birth of Jesus. It is a season of preparation, waiting, hope, love, and joy.

The time leading up to Christmas Day is also a season of longing – longing for things to be different in our lives, in our relationships, and in our world. In this four-part sermon series, we will discuss some of the longings and desires that people have during this season.

Resurrection

March 29th, 2016

Rhythm Team

Often people think Easter as one day, but actually it’s fifty days. That’s how big the reality of the resurrection is. Holidays come and go, yet seasons allows us to linger. And we need time to linger around the empty tomb and consider what it means for us and the world. (Besides, if the darkness of Lent was forty days then you better believe the brightness of Easter will be longer.) Resurrection Sunday is an all out party – but it’s just the beginning.

Listen in on this message about how Jesus’ resurrection has altered our world forever, unleashing an explosion of power like an electrical current of love, joy, and hope running throughout and underneath reality. And the good news is that this isn’t just something we’ll experience in the future – we can tap into this resurrection power in the here and now!

Often people think Easter as one day, but actually it’s fifty days. That’s how big the reality of the resurrection is. Holidays come and go, yet seasons allows us to linger. And we need time to linger around the empty tomb and consider what it means for us and the world. Listen in on this message about how Jesus’ resurrection changes everything – and not just for us but for the whole world. Whatever we might be going through, the empty tomb means sadness and sorrow never have the last word.

Journey With Jesus

February 16th, 2015

Rhythm Team

We invite you to journey with Jesus during the season of Lent. Beginning in the fourth century, the church began observing Lent as a forty-day period of reflection and preparation for the death and resurrection of Jesus. It is a time of repentance, of considering Christ’s sufferings, and rethinking how we are called to take up our own crosses.

One way we’re living into this season as a community is through our Lent Devo Guide (you can download it here). Each day there is a Psalm and Scripture passage to read, and we encourage you to take 5-10 minutes to reflect either by journaling, sketching, or just thinking. While reflecting, give God space to speak to you. Then close by praying the Lord’s Prayer and personalizing each part of the prayer for what you are experiencing that day.
